You've been given the opportunity to join a very special club – one that not many of the population will ever be included in – that of completing a marathon.

With such a challenge there is no doubt that preparing your body to run 26.2miles takes a huge amount of commitment, compromises and many sacrifices. But having taken that first step in entering the Virgin London Marathon you are on the road to doing something truly amazing and the team at Lucozade Sport are committed to making sure you have all of the support you need to help you cross the finish line on Sunday 17th April with a smile on your face.

Training

The hardest part of any marathon is not race day itself - but the training needed to get to the start line feeling ready for the challenge ahead. Having developed a credible knowledge base in nutrition and hydration over the past 30 years and also by working closely with the race directors of the Virgin London Marathon we have lots of expertise to share with you.

We believe, as with most things in life, there is always room to learn something new and exciting; running is no different. It's important to adapt your training as you go otherwise your body will find its comfort zone and your fitness levels will not increase. That's why our team of dedicated runners, including our team of Sport Scientists, have developed our online running hub to make sure you walk up to that start line ready to run the race of your life.
