Queens Park Harriers primarily operate in the Paddington, Kensal Rise and Willesden areas of West London. and competes in road, cross country and track & field events wearing its famous 'Danebury' red and white hoops.
The club goes back to 1887 when boys from St.Judes Institute, Queens Park, formed a sports club active in both athletics and football.
The football section apparently disagreed with the Vicar and formed what eventually became Queens Park Rangers F.C.
Today QPH are a small but fast growing and friendly club made up of members from all age and ability groups. Unlike at some big clubs you will not become anonymous at QPH. We all look out for each other and take an interest in each other's progress.
We have strong junior and veteran sections at the club and love nothing better than seeing nervous newcomers develop into confident runners.
Our associations with the London Marathon go back to its beginnings. While many of our members take on the challenge each year, either in the club vest or those of the many charities involved, our proudest boast is that we count Bill O'Connor among our number.
Bill is one of only 18 remaining 'Ever presents' who have completed every London Marathon since it was first run in 1981. If anyone knows what it takes to reach The Mall on top form, it's Bill!
Potential new members are always welcome at training sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays so come and give us a try.
