Whether you are looking to run for fitness or competition, experienced or beginner, we are a friendly club and welcome men and women of any age or ability.

We are not a club that keeps looking at our stopwatches to see how fast we run and we do not have a strict plan of how far you should run on a particular night. Our main purpose is to allow people of all abilities who enjoy running to come down to our club and run with other like minded people and, if they wish, to join in any of the social events that we arrange.

We are a very friendly club, first formed in the summer of 1985 with a growing number of members. We usually start with a warm up during which members discuss how far they wish to run that night. There are usually two or three different groups who wish to run/jog/walk over various distances on a variety of routes. Showers are available on return followed by a well earned drink or meal in the bar if you wish.

Your questions answered!

Where can I find you?

We meet at the Hull and East Riding Sports Club on Chanterlands Ave, Hull.
We meet on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:30pm. Runners are welcome to attend as many or as few of the sessions as they would like to.

Some of our members also meet at the club on a Sunday morning for a long training run.

What training do you do?

We do a wide variety of training to cater for the needs of all of our runners. This ranges from 1-2 mile run/walk routes to much longer training runs and everything in-between.

Can I turn up or do I have to join first?

There is no obligation to join our club at first. Come down and run with us for up to three occasions and then if you like what you see and wish to join, we'd be pleased to welcome you as a member.

I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?

We have 25 runners aiming for Spring marathons. Ability range 2:50-6 hours. We are confident that there will be a group or someone for you to link up with. We also hold briefing sessions again led by qualified coaches.
