Reading Roadrunners cater for all ages and ability levels of runners. We believe that running is first and foremost fun. We have in the region of 500 members of whom 40% are women. We have a wide variation of ages: many young people, and also a high proportion of veterans.

Our club nights are Wednesday and Friday evenings which begin at 6.30pm Wednesday night is our main club night, with up to 100 participants. You are welcome to run with us at our sessions even if you are not a member: why not come along and then decide if you want to join? New members are asked to do a one off induction, which allows you to get a feel of the club and your fellow runners. The induction lasts around 1 hour and is designed with fun in mind.

Friday Night is very similar to Wednesday except there is one session for all abilities are welcome. Thursday Evenings we meet for a social out run of approx 5 miles, during the summer we have a pub run every alternative Thursday in and around the Berkshire area, all abilities are welcome. On Sunday mornings we have a social out run starting from the Palmer Park Stadium at 9.00am ranging from 6 miles upwards, again all abilities are welcome. We do road running all the year round. In the winter we also do cross country, taking part in Saturday and Sunday leagues, as well as in County and National Championships. Due to our central location in Reading, we welcome many members from other local towns. We are very sociable, and many of our training sessions end up in the bar at Palmer Park. . Reading Roadrunners receive sponsorship and support from The Reading Evening Post.

I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?

We always have 20 or so runners in the Virgin London Marathon whose pace varies from 2h40m to over 5 hours. Our members are a friendly bunch and we will introduce you to people of similar ability and training for the Virgin London Marathon. Many members decide to meet up and train with each other outside club nights.
