PJC is a well established club of approaching 400 runners, of all abilities & ages from 18 to 80. Primarily a Road Running Club with many experienced coaches & leaders.
The club has firmly established itself on the South Coast & for many many years has been organising Virgin London marathon training (which starts in early January) for all levels of entrants.

Where can I find you?
The club meets every Tuesday & Thursday evenings at the Mountbatten Centre - runs start at 1900. Then additional sessions are held on Saturday mornings (on Road) & Sunday morning for Off Road.Many training for the Virgin London do find a combination of On & Off Road sessions most helpful.
What training do you do?
We split into groups with each group led by a coach / leader. Distances & speed are defined & we have a large beginners group that ranges from 'never run before' to 'Have only managed 1mile' at 12/ 14 minute pace. We have speed groups,distance groups, with all groups generally managed around varying. Thus no Jogger is excluded. weekend runs tend to be longer runs & are usually geared towards training for specific races & terrain.
Typically someone training for the Virgin London Marathon will be working within a schedule to achieve the marathon milage at the'right time'.We don't train Champions ... but everyone in the club who completes a marathon is a star.
Can I turn up or do I have to join first?
We let people turn up for a number of sessions & if they like us we ask that they join.
I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?
We do find, usually that those who simply come along to train for the Virgin London Marathon, end up on the committee & become the backbone of the club! Our London Marathon training sessions hav been known to attract 50+ runners on a Saturday.
