Penny Lane Striders was formed in 1985 to accommodate the grass roots runner. It is one of the friendliest clubs in Merseyside with a reputation welcoming people who are new to running as well more experienced runners. There are currently over 150 members, about half the membership are women and the more mature runners are well represented.
We participate in a wide range of running and related sports. Road racing , Trail, Fell racing X.Country, national relays as well more off beat races such as ‘Man vs. Horse’ Some members just want to have couple gentle runs a few times a week which is fine, others are little bit more intense. As a member you will have access to advice, guidance and encouragement all of which can really help. Especially during the tough times of marathon training.
