Part of the International Frontrunners organisation, Manchester Frontrunners was set up in early 2005 by a group of predominantly gay and lesbian people who simply love running! Although many of our members are from the LGBT community, we welcome runners of all abilities regardless of sexual orientation. We also welcome runners of all abilities, whether planning your next marathon attempt or your first 5k, we provide a relaxed and social environment for everyone to train at their pace.

Your questions answered!

Where can I find you?

We run on Salford Quays on a Monday evening – meet for a 7pm start at ‘Fit City Ordsall’ on Trafford Road. We also run on Saturday mornings – meet for a 1am start at Trafford AC, Longford Park, Chorlton. Details of all out runs are on our website.

What training do you do?

At present we run on a Monday evening and Saturday morning and we are planning to introduce a Wednesday evening training session in early 2010 – contact us for more details.

Can I turn up or do I have to join first?

You can simply turn up and if you like us feel free to join up as a full member afterwards! You can sign up for our FREE newsletters by sending your email address to us and requesting to be added to the distribution list. We’re also happy to meet up with new members before a run to discuss their aims and objectives, or just so they know a face on their first session with the club.

I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?

Manchester Frontrunners, albeit a relatively small club, usually has at least one or two people taking part in the marathon so we can provide support and training plans for those who are preparing for the big race. Alternatively, given that our Saturday runs tend to be more social we could be a great way to compliment your other training. (We also go for a fantastic brunch afterwards – perfect for carb loading!)
