Ilford Harriers were formed in 2006 and represent the road and cross country section of Ilford Athletic Club which was founded in 1923. We welcome new members of all abilities, and whilst our intention is for all to achieve their maximum potential, our main objective is that all should primarily enjoy themselves in a friendly unpressurised atmosphere. All new runners will have somebody to run with, either other beginners or experienced runners, who will run at your pace.
We have a large contingent entering the London Marathon and we make sure that all running events are combined with proper social events. We have structured programs and qualified coaches at all levels for those who require it.
We have some excellent facilities – Apart from the track at Cricklefields Stadium, boasting a new clubhouse and bar, we have off-road facilities on the edge of Hainault Forest at Chigwell Row.
Whatever your reasons to join us, this club is for you. Don’t be shy, don’t be nervous – take the plunge.

I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?
We always have a large contingent of runners in the London Marathon whose pace varies from 2hrs 30mins to over 5 hours. Our members are a friendly bunch and we will introduce you to people of similar ability and training for the Virgin London Marathon. Many members decide to meet up and train with each other outside club nights.
