Colchester Harriers Athletic Club

Colchester Harriers AC, originally known as Colchester Joggers Club, was founded in 1982 as a direct result of the running boom that followed the first London Marathon. The club provides the opportunity for athletes of all standards from age 8 to train and compete in a variety of disciplines including: Track and Field, Road running, Cross country running, Trail running, Race walking and Sports Hall athletics. The Club welcomes all athletes who wish to participate, and helps and supports them no matter what level their fitness and ability. This site is designed to give information about everything Colchester Harriers, training, contacts, coaching or anything to do with athletics in and around the Colchester area
Harriers are affiliated to : Essex County A A A, Suffolk County A A, South of England A A, UK Athletics, British Triathlon Association, Eastern A A A, Race Walking Association, Trail Running Association

The Harriers compete in :Southern Men’s Track and Field League, Southern Women’s Track and Field League, East Anglian League, Eastern Veterans Track and Field League, Essex Cross Country League, Inter Sport Cross Country League.

Despite all these competitions we are a very friendly running club looking forward to meeting new social or serious runners!

Can I turn up or do I have to join first?

You do not have to join first, just come along and give it a try.

I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?

Turn up on one of the club nights where you can discuss your training with other club members. There will always be someone training for the Virgin London Marathon so we just turn up!
