If you secured a place in the 2009 London Marathon but couldn't take part on the day because you were ill or injured, here's what to do to run in 2010:
- If you followed the race withdrawal procedure and told us on or before race day 2009 that you'd have to withdraw, you can expect to get an ‘ill or injured’ entry form through the post for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon.
- You should receive your entry form by 30 May 2009 - if for any reason this doesn't arrive, please give us a call on 0207 902 0200 by 30 May 2009 at the latest.
- As long as we receive your completed form back by 12 June 2009, and you pay the 2010 entry fee, you'll definitely have a place in 2010.
What's the closing date for my ‘ill or injured’ entry form?
Please return your ‘ill or injured’ entry form to this address:
Ill or injuredVirgin London Marathon
PO Box 3460
London
SE1 0YA
We'll need to receive your form by 12 June 2009. Please note, late entries aren't accepted under any circumstances and it’s your responsibility to make sure everything we need reaches us by the closing date, so we recommend you send everything to us by recorded delivery.
Please note:
We can only defer places in the Virgin London Marathon for one year - if you carried your place over from 2008 and had to withdraw again from the 2009 race, you won't be allocated a place in 2010 or sent an entry form.
If you had a charity entry place in 2009 but had to withdraw from the race, your place won't have been deferred and you won't be sent an entry form, as your entry place will have been given back to the charity.
Important information
Please note, if you were ill or injured but didn't follow the withdrawals procedure for the 2009 race, we won't be able to reserve you a place in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon.
If you've got a place in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon but aren't well enough to take part, please read our race withdrawal procedure.
